Recognized as the Karst Plateau Global Geopark by UNESCO-supported Global Geoparks Network (GNN) in 2010, Dong Van is the only Global Geoparks in Vietnam and the second in South East Asia. Known as a remote place in the rooftop area, Dong Van has breathtaking scenery and outstanding geo-diversity with diversified ethnic cultures. Dong Van Plateau is appreciated by international geography experts because of its full data on mineral geology and environmental resources. Particularly, UNESCO highly appreciates the cultural identity of the local ethnic minority peoples.
